AES Gener is a producer and distributor of electricity in Chile. Formerly known as Chilectra Generacion (Chilgener 1981-1998) and Gener (1998-2001). AES Gener is the result of the division in 1987, Chilectra into three independent companies. Two distributors (Chilectra and Chilquinta) and a generator and distributor (Chilgener).
AES Corporation owns a majority stake in the equity of AES Gener.[2]
