Mihintale Line is a 5 ft 6 in (1,676 mm) gauge railway line in Sri Lanka which starts from Anuradhapura and ends at Mihintale. The length of this line is about 7 miles and there are no stations between the termini. This line was built in 1993.
This line branches off from Northern Line at Mihintale Junction in Anuradhapura.[2]
Operations
Trains are not regularly operated on this line. Trains are operated only during the Vesak season. There is a high demand for the transport services from Anuradhapura to Mihintale on this season. The train takes about 30 minutes to complete the journey.[2]
On Vesak seasons free trains are operated.[3]
