Juventus F.C. should have redeemed a disappointing league season when winning the European Cup at Heysel. However, the season was marked by the Heysel disaster in which 39 people, mostly Juventus supporters, lost their lives as a result. That Juventus won 1-0 was something that went unnoticed. However, it was the first time Juventus had won the European Cup.
